Here is the letter I sent to my Congressman. You can copy it to send to yours or use it to help you write your own.

I recommend that you send them to your Republican Congressmen and Senators (if you have them) because the Republicans hold the majority in both the House and the Senate.
Insert Your Congressmans Name Here,
I am writing to you in regard to the alarming things that have been happening in Washington and that continue to happen.
First was the pardon for the violent criminals (170) who attacked the Capitol on January 6th, 2021. I do understand the Presidents right to pardon people but this goes too far.
I am all for trimming costs and making the government more efficient. That is why the firing of the Inspectors General was concerning because they are the watchdogs and oversight in government agencies. Then it got worse when the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) started to disassemble those same agencies with the finesse of a bull in a china shop. DOGE is supposed to be auditing not destroying agencies. I understand that there is waste in government but the rate that this group is finding what they call waste, fraud and corruption seems to be more performative than substantive. We were promised transparency. For peace of mind and public cooperation we need to know the credentials of these agents, who they are and what they are actually uncovering in a comprehensive and detailed report (under oath). Misleading the American public is akin to fraud.
I would also like to say I am disappointed that USAID was shuttered. It did important work for diplomacy and was our soft power on making alliances with countries that may have been hesitant to trust us and our western political stances. John F. Kennedy created that agency in 1961 and it has been beneficial to our country and all the recipients of the aid it provided.
The firing of government employees in a haphazard and random way was also very concerning especially when it came to light that some of them were in charge of our nuclear warhead stockpile at NNSA. And the firing of the specialists at the FDA who were in charge of tracking and containing the Avian Flu outbreaks is a huge problem because if this issue is not controlled the disease will continue to spread to other animals (cows) and the expensive cost of eggs will continue. There needs to be oversight.
Now, the President is blaming Ukraine for the unprovoked attack from Russia! This is so outrageous and wrong and it makes our country look like we are aligning ourselves with RUSSIA. This needs to stop!
I would like to remind you that Congress works for the American people, not the President. If he is doing things that are unconstitutional or go against the best interests of our country it is your (and all the members of Congress) duty to keep him in check. Contrary to his posts, the President is not a King!Thank you for your time,
